Mac Online Casino Users Notice Declining Offerings
25 Jan 2007
Mac users are once again suffering where the online casino industry is concerned. After the UIGEA, or Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, was passed for US online casino poker sites and casino players, many Mac users noticed all their favorite rooms were shutting their doors to US online casino players. There are now only a few Mac online casino sites that allow US players. It is now over 3 months past the signing of the bill which made it illegal for banks to operate transactions with gambling sites. Just when Mac online casino gamblers began to have the same offerings as other PC online casinos fans, the UIGEA was passed. The regulations put on US online casino players and financial institutions dealing with these players are being seen in other parts of the globe as well. France and Germany want no part of online gambling and are trying to bar their citizens from playing at online casinos. Regarding Mac online casino fans, many of the Mac poker gamers are in bad shape. Some have even started turning to PC dual booting to operate popular sites on their Mac. It is true that countries like Italy and the UK are legalizing and regulating online gambling, but it is not enough of an impact around the world to make the US and other countries do the same.
Hopefully things for Mac users will get better within the online casino industry. Some online casino players wonder whether these protective measures are really in their best interest. In the meantime, they can only sit by and watch or try to use another computer to play their favorite online casino games.
